Three Robbers in a Bus I met and the lesson I learnt… (Part 2)

AS I SAID STORY IS NOT YET FINISHED. THREE ROBBERS MET ME AGAIN ON THE SAME ROUTE...

This was another week day. Apprx. after 1 month of the first incident. After finishing the work, I was heading towards my home on the same route. This time i was not alone. One of my office colleague was with me. She also has the same route. But she used to live in Surya Nagar between Dilshad Garden Border Bus Stand and Anand Vihar.

I am mentioning my route again.

Motinagar, Delhi (Office) >>by bus>> Inderlok Metro Station >>Metro>> Dilshad Garden Metro >>walking>> Dilshad Garden Border Bus Stand >>Bus>> Surya Nagar>> Anand Vihar Auto Stand >>Shared Auto>> Vaishali in Ghaziabad (my home)

We were talking with each other about...mmmmmmm... Sorry I do not remember the topic....
After a while I started telling her about my encounter with three robbers one month back. She was making faces thinking that i am boasting about my myself a lot. So I stopped talking about the incident. We got down at Dilshad Garden Metro Station and picked the Non DTC (Private) Bus at Dilshad Garden Border Bus Stand. As i entered the bus and took the ticket from conductor and turn back, I saw the same Guy who met me last time. One who was little shorter but muscular than me. I smiled and gave one ticket to my friend. After giving ticket to her I smiled and said to her your friends are here in the Bus. The robbers I was talking about. Her Eyes got wide (May be out of fear). Then I turned back to the robber with serious (but free from any anger, fear) face. Robber recognized me. I think he have rarely met any person like me.

He said slowly (bowing his head) moving side to me, "Marega Saala (Wanna Die)"

In the same way moving side to him and bowing my head, I said "Haa ye maarenge Mujhe..!!! (Oh yes, u all can kill me...!!! sarcastically)"

Robber to me (in anger): Kya bola... !!! (What did you said...!!!)

Me to Robber in anger: I got near to him with face to face and Looking in his Eye with a gap of 2 inch, Batau abhi kya hua..!!! ( U wanna know what did i said...!!!)

Robber: Tu apna kaam kar aur mujhe apna kaam karne de (You do you work and let me do my work).

Me: Beta aisaa hai.. Naa to tu mera kaam kar paaega aur naa hi mere rehte hue is Bus me kisi ka kar paaegaa.. Utar Jaa Bus se.. ( Thing is.. Neither you can rob me nor you can Rob anyone in this bus as iam here in the Bus. You just get down)

Suddenly I saw two more Guys standing behind him. Their heights were in ascending order like we used to stand in school morning prayers....Lolz... I noticed instantly that these two were with him. But these two were different Guys I met previously.

One more thing to notice is previously he was not afraid of me despite rough talk we had with each other. This time too he was not scared of me. But as soon as I got very near to his face and looked in his eyes, I was able to see the fear in his eyes at this very instant.

Then I said to my friend, common move ahead. I got her a seat in the mid part of the Bus. I was standing infront of her. One Guy was sitting just behind her seat. Other two Guys were standing infront of me. I was listening Song with earphone on. Suddenly I realized I have to be more alert. So I removed the earphone.

The robber sitting behind her, stood up and said to me politely.. Bhai mujhe aage jaane do.. (Brother please let me go forward).

I said politely too: Bilkul bhai.. (Sure brother. Please go)

Then all the three robbers got down somewhere in between. This girl said - Why have you done this. They could have knife. I smiled and said. Yes this was possible.... Then her stand came too and she got down and after few minutes my stand came too.

This encounter was little funny. She was scared and was not even saying a word. But yes this is natural reaction of people. And i think by keeping quiet, she was helping me as the matter did not got escalated.

Again none of the people dared to speak even a word to those robbers and as usual I didn't expected too. After this incident I never met those robbers as I left this company after few months. But I heard few news from other friends about Mobile pickpocketing on the same route. Also after few years route structure has completely changed. Now shared autos are more favored in those routes.
I think those robbers might have changed their routes. But yes I do pray someday they feel guilty for all their wrong doings and choose the right path in their life.

Three Robbers in a Bus I met and the lesson I learnt… (Part 1)

This is real story of mine.....

The story is around 5 years back story (this day being of Jan. 2017).

By the way those who do not know, beside practicing Martial arts, I am an B.Tech, Engineer and working in a company too. At that time I was learning Kung Fu (combat system) form Master Santosh Singh and Muay Thai from Mr. Sandeep Rao.

So coming back to the story 5 years back. This was just any regular day. I left for the day around 6:30 P.M from my Office in Motinagar, Delhi. Taking Metro from Inderlok to Dilshad Garden which was my regular route to travel.

Ok. Let me mention my exact route for you to understand the story. Specially for those who do not know much about me.

Motinagar, Delhi (Office) >>by bus>> Inderlok Metro Station >>Metro>> Dilshad Garden Metro >>walking>> Dilshad Garden Border Bus Stand >>Bus>> Anand Vihar Auto Stand >>Shared Auto>> Vaishali in Ghaziabad (my home)

So now you must have understood my route. Let's go back to the story.

I was standing on Dilshad Garden Border Bus Stand to take a bus. DTC (Delhi Transport Corporation) bus came and I entered from the back door (which is expected from everyone). Now I was not the only one to enter. There were many people to enter the bus. After taking this 5 Rs. ticket to Anand Vihar Auto Stand, I got a place to stand in a corner of the bus near back gate only. Suddenly my eyes saw one person looking very strange. I cannot explain what strange I saw in him. May be my sixth sense said he is a thief. He looked dangerous too. Same like this  cartoon....

But this cartoon Thief is Bald. The one I saw was not...Hahahahahaha....

His height was little shorter than me. I am 5.65 ft. He will be around 5.5 and well built. Another one was standing near to him. He was taller than me (around 5.8 or 5.9 ft) and built just like me.
Both were standing infront of the gate and their eyes was looking for something. Suddenly something naughty came to my mind and I decided to come near to them so that they can steel something from me and I can catch them red handed. I really do not know how can I be so sure that they were thief and believe me this was the first time I felt something like this. As I got closer to them, to my surprise, one with short height started taking my Mobile from my right pocket. He started taking Mobile from my pant pocket slowly and slowly. I was able to hear his breath running faster than normally. This is something natural when people do wrong things their breath gets faster and shorter. This is what I consider part of Internal Martial arts. Mobile in my pocket had been taken Half. Suddenly, another thought came in my mind that even if I catch this man red handed and beat him read and blue, another man can simply take my mobile in between and can flee away. What I will be left with..!!!!!!! I will be at loss as I will be without Mobile...!!!! So I decided to stop this matter here only.

Here comes the conversation which I now consider funny but dangerous..... But yes I learnt  a lot from this instance. I will share with you this learning at the end of my post..

I turned my face to his face. I pushed his head with my right hand and said. ( Iam writing in Hindi and English both as Hindi will be more funny)

Me: Galat Bande k paas aa gaya hai aaj tu (You have come up to a wrong Guy).

Thief 1: Kyaaaa ho gayaaa (Bhaari awaaj me bola).... ( What Happenedddd....(In harsh and bold voice)

Me: Abe bataau abhi, kya ho gaya hai... Nikal le...Galat bande k paas aa gaya hai aaj tu (What happenned...!!! You wanna me to tell what happenedd...!!!. Go way..You have come up to a wrong Guy)

Thief 1: Shaant ho jaa.. Nahi to.... (Shut up...Or I will....!!!)

Me: Abe maanega nahi kyaa... Maan Jaa... Aaj tera din bura hai bahut...Nikal le. ( You don' t wanna understand..!!!! Try to... Today your day is not good... Go away)

Theif 2: "He touches my chin with his right hand fingers trying to scare me and says"... Kyaaa ho gayaaaa.. Aaj Shaniwaar hai... ( What Happened.. Is today Saturday...!!!)

Me: Sahi Bolaaaa tuuu... Aaj Shaniwaar hai...Tum dono pe Shanigrah hai aaj ( Yes you are right. Today is saturday. Today God of Saturday is Angry on you)

(Those who do not know, In Hinduism, Saturday is devoted to one most feared Demi God known as Shani Dev. Though all Hindus do not think in the same way including me as Hinduism is a very vast religion and people are free to adopt whatever suits them for their spiritual advancement)

Theif 2: He keeps quiet after that.

Theif 1: Abe jyada kya bol raha hai neeche mil le. Fir batata hu (Don't speak too much. Come meet us outside this Bus now. Then I will show you)

Me: Haa aajaa.. Nikal le nahi to bahut maarungaa... (Common i am ready... Just go way..Or I will beat you very badly)

Theif 1: Started going towards the front door and says.... Aajaaa.... (Common come down)

Me: I was standing their only and said: Abe aaja utar le jaha milna hai mil le..chal utar (Common.. Get down. I am ready to come down wherever you say.. Get down)

However I was intelligent enough not to get down to the place where he wants me to. But I was ready if he wanted to mess up at the stand where I was getting down, i.e, Anand Vihar Auto Stand. I was aware there was a Police booth too. This was hardly 15 minutes route.

POINT TO BE NOTED: I WAS ALONE IN THE BUS FIGHTING (VERBALLY) WITH THEM. NO ONE WAS COMING IN BETWEEN AND TO BE TRUE I NEVER EXPECT ANYONE TO COME FROM MY SIDE. THIS LESSON I GOT IN MY CHILDHOOD. SO I ALWAYS CONSIDER MYSELF AS A ALONE TIGER. THIS LESSON I WILL SHARE IN ANOTHER BLOG.

Blog name will be "Someone Slapped Me. Why I started learning Martial arts?"

Last two conversation lines kept on going for sometime and then he and his mate went down the bus somewhere in between these two stands. As soon as these two people left the bus, one of the Bus Passenger said me, Bhaiya (Brother), they are total three. He saw three people outside the bus having conversation with each other. I saw them and then I had a smile on my face thinking answer to his question as "Who cares".

This was of course my overconfidence at that time. Today seeing myself having more knowledge I can understand how much bad that situation would have been. They might have blades, may be pistols for which I was mentally as well as technically not at all prepared. This situation might have killed me too. Trust me I am not at all scared of facing such situation. Neither at that time nor today. But today Iam far better than at that time and more knowledgeable too. So now I will handle such situation in a different way.

Lessons I learned:

1. Whenever such situation happens, their will be a natural little nervousness feeling and heart will start pumping at higher rate due to high adrenaline flow. One who can see this feeling arising inside himself/ herself and can control and channelize it can control any worse situation in life.

2. I was literally very embarrassed by myself when second thief touched my chin and I was not aware of that and was too much focused on first thief. This happens in a street fight where multiple opponents are involved. One has to be too much alert and aware of everything happening around himself when involved in such fights. This was the basic and last training I received in my Kung Fu study. One who is not alert all the time will fail sometime on street even if he is a world champion in sports.

3. Their is a big difference between street self defense and sports competitions.

4. Whoever is doing wrong thing will always be nervous about that. Same as like these thieves when their breathing pattern changed.

NO. STORY IS NOT FINISHED YET. BECAUSE THEY MET ME AGAIN ON THE SAME ROUTE...

NEXT STORY WILL COME IN PART 2... TILL THEN BE IN SUSPENSE AND IMAGINE WHAT HAPPENED NEXT.....  ðŸ˜œðŸ˜œðŸ˜œðŸ˜œðŸ˜œðŸ˜œ

MUAY THAI- ONE OF THE MOST OFFENSIVE AND BRUTAL MARTIAL ARTS

Muay Thai teachers/ Coaches/ Trainers of mine:

1) Kru Narendar Kumar - India's best and current Muay Thai teacher
2) Mr. Harish Baghel - Great fighter and my current Trainer
3) Mr. Praveen - My current trainer who has good ability to understand this art.
4) Mr. Sandeep Rao- Initial Muay Thai Coach of mine because of whom I came to know about this art and met Kru Narendar Kumar.

I am not going to write too much about history or techniques of  Muay Thai as this can be understood better from below links. But I would like to express my views/ research on this Martial arts.

1. http://www.muaythaiboxingacademy.com/
2. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muay_Thai

MUAY BORAN/ MUAY THAI:

I am starting with basic introduction for those who do not know anything about this Martial arts.

Muay Thai is known as art of 8 limbs. 2 Fists, 2 Kicks, 2 Knees, 2 Elbows are used as a weapon.
Actually there is a 9th limb too. Strike with head. But now it is banned in sports.

Muay Thai is a sport version of Muay Boran. Muay Boran is the actual name of this martial arts coming from Thailand. Muay Boran is more street specific Martial arts while Muay Thai is sport based Martial arts with little changes to suit sport needs.

This sport is so common in Thailand as Cricket is being practiced here in India. It is National sport of Thailand too. In this sport, two person hit each other with Punches, Kicks, Elbows, Knees including few throws and slips in clinching. Each strike has to be heavy to get point. Low power strike are not given any value.

BELTS IN MUAY THAI:

Like any other traditional Martial arts, Muay Thai do not have any belt system (Please note Belts were never part of Martial arts originally. It began in Modern world). Though now from few years, associations had started ranks and Grades in Muay Boran training.

But needless to mention, in Muay Thai world, fighters are known by their fighting ability instead of what grades they have. Fighters with good fighting ability are respected more even they have lower grades as good fighters are skilled and one with high grades are having more technical knowledge. Please note their is difference between in being technical and becoming skilled in that. Please follow my another upcoming blog to know more difference about these two terms.

In Muay Boran, grading is done by changing the colors of Mongkoon on head. These colours gets upgraded after doing each higher course.

Note: To know more about why Belt system in Martial arts started, please follow my another upcoming blog.

BRUCE LEE CONCEPT AND THE MUAY THAI RELATION

Main relation between Bruce Lee and Muay Thai I found is- Bruce lee said- "Simplicity is key to brilliance".

Muay Thai proves this statement very much. Muay Thai moves are too simple to learn and are less flashy and less stylist. But yes those moves require continuous practice to become skilled. Do not expect anything in one or two day.

BOKATOR AND MUAY THAI RELATION:

People of Cambodia claims that Muay Thai has come from their art known as Bokator. In history, people of Cambodia and of Thailand had a war. And people of Cambodia claims that Thai people have learnt this art from them when people from both sides migrated to each other country to live after war or during war (may be). However people of Thailand deny this statement and instead claims that Cambodian's have learnt/ stole this art from them.

MUSHTI YUDH AND MUAY THAI RELATION:

By reading and discussing with some researchers in Martial arts, I came to know that Muay Thai has it's origin in Musti Yuddham. Traditional Martial art style of people practicing Hinduism.

Just copying a text from Wikipedia which says-

Quote:

Various types of boxing existed in ancient India. The earliest references to musti-yuddha come from classical Vedic epics such as the Ramayana and Rig Veda. The Mahabharta describes two combatants boxing with clenched fists and fighting with kicks, finger strikes, knee strikes and headbutts. Duels (niyuddham) were often fought to the death.

Unquote:

Except the finger strikes all are present in Muay Boran/ Muay Thai which can be a good hint that it derived from Musti Yuddha style.

Also Musti Yuddham style is still being practiced in Kalaripayattu. But in Kalaripayattu it is taught at a later stage while in Muay Thai from first day combat practice starts.

However their is still lot to know about the Kalaripayattu style of Musti yuddham as iam at a mediocre level in Kalaripayattu. Hope in future I will have much information to say anything about this relation.

As per me, it is always good to know about Martial arts history, it's origin, culture etc., but who cares which art came from whom as it is not going to make me more skilled. The thing which is most important to me is what best I can learn from everyone or from any art to develop to my best and full potential.

MY FEELING FOR THIS MARTIAL ARTS:

First of all I will say I love this combat Style as it makes me a very good stand up fighter. After each fight i participate, i am filled up with confidence though I always keep on improving my weakness after meditating on my fight competitions.

One of the best thing that developed inside me after fighting so many competitions is I have conquered my ego a lot though not in full. I have come above the praise and disrespect. I do not get overjoyed when people say me "Iam good". Also I do not get demoralize when people unknowingly disrespect me for my combat ability and even challenges me as i am well aware of my ability and improvement I have to make. I have met a lot of fighters who think they are world champion just by learning techniques and not practicing enough in becoming skilled in that so that they can apply it in combat (this includes people from other martial arts style too). But i can understand the ego fighter develops instantly is not so easy to control. I have gone through this process and have developed slowly.

Also I would like to point out that it becomes very easy for "Ego" to take control of fighter when he /she keeps on winning the fight. One of the best example can be disrespecting his opponent when he/she is weaker. So competitions are actually very dangerous thing to participate when seen spiritually. One has to be very careful after the fight and always has to be aware of this Ego, so that it do not capture the mind of a fighter.

Lastly, Muay Thai is best Martial arts if one wants to learn One to One and Hand to hand combat style in less time. Only thing that Muay Thai lack is people of this Martial arts are developed only in Physical and Mental portions of Martial arts. They lack spiritual portions of Martial arts because of which fighters has to suffer in this Mortal world. However it totally depends on the practitioners to practitioners whether they focus on Spiritual portions too and develop themselves spiritually as Muay Thai or any other art never keeps any reservation on this portion development too. As per me this is the most important part of Martial arts.

I feel, I will keep practicing and not going to leave this Martial arts style till my last breath.

INJURIES I HAVE SUFFERED IN MUAY THAI FIGHT:

1)  Jaw breaking Punches on Face making my Jaw hurt for two days.

2) Knee on face (Point below my Eyes) blackening that place instantly. This felt like a Huge hammer has been struck on my face.

3) Kick on face (Though not of enough power to knock me out).

4) Elbow strike to my foot after which i felt a tremendous pain on my foot. This pain was such that I was not able to even touch that point.

5) Jamming of my side part of Shins after taking heavy kicks on them. I was not able to walk properly for 2 days.

6) Ankle Injury.

7) Jammed neck after fight. This happens when i am not able to give exercise to my neck for long time and then fight. Small but very important part to give exercise.

8) Few times, hit on groin (by mistake of other opponent). But thanks to Groin Guard. It saved me. Now I have a kid too....Lolzzzz......

9) Light pain on hamstring, Butts after getting kicked.

10) Bleeding nose but not broken. Thank God.

11) Lot of competitions still left to be participated. So may be more injuries to come. Keep praying for me.

But hey..... thanks to my Kalaripayattu Guruji who treated me in most of the cases by his Unique Marma treatment methods. In few cases, I got healed by myself and in one case I managed to treat myself by the knowledge (though very little) of Marma treatment blessed by my Guurji.

Best thing that has developed inside me after these fights is- Now iam not at all afraid of getting hit on street. I have lost this fear.
